We have been blessed. Let's be humble and sweet to appreciate and enjoy the gift of life and let's make the most out of it by learning, sharing and caring. No matter if you were born a vegetarian, decided to become vegetarian later in life or are just considering the possibility to become one in the next few days. I'd like to offer support with opinions, ideas and delicious recipes. I'm 49 and became vegetarian at 19 when I was studying in London. This is my story: One quiet Sunday morning I was passing by Trafalgar Square and heard a guy using a megaphone who was addressing a group, he said: "...we have to try to save our giant sisters of the sea..." He was talking about the killing of whales at the North Sea and I kept walking on but his words were repeated over and over in my head throughout the day... I humbly thank and send all my blessings to that guy because he made me realize that those huge animals had as much right to live as myself as all of us had been created by our dear Lord. I thought about it a lot and realized I couldn't step on the boats and defend the whales from the arpons so, by dusk when I returned home I had taken the decision to make a radical change in my life as that was my way to support the cause and go against that indiscriminate killing. My Heart and Soul became compassionate and my mind and body became vegetarian. Now, let me share with you a very simple and delicious recipe!
CHOCOLATE BREAD
Preheat oven to 350F
Sift 3 cups flour - 1 cup sugar - 1 tbsp. baking powder - 1/2 tsp. salt.
Add 5 tbsp. unsalted butter and mix gently.
Fold in 1-1/2 cups chocolate chips - 2/3 cups milk (Add enough extra flour as needed so that you have a dough that doesn't stick to your fingers). Divide dough into 16 balls and place them on an 8-inch baking pan.
Melt 3 tbsp. unsalted butter and mix 1/4 cup sugar and 1.5 tsp. ground cinnamon.
Drizzle the balls with the melted butter and sprinkle them with the sugar-cinnamon mix.
Bake for 30 min. Cool in pan set on a wire rack.
